Pushing the Boundaries

In addition to the popular arts, Filipino Americans continue to push the boundaries outside mainstream forms and have achieved recognition for their work. For example, Ian Gamazon and Neill dela Llana, directors of the indie film "Cavite" (2005) and percussionist/ composer Susie Ibarra have received acclaim for their work that is challenging and on the cutting edges of contemporary culture.
